Chinese companies donate food to Kenyan students to fight COVID-19

After learning the school had to suspend classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the international free lunch program could not be implemented normally, students faced a serious food shortage. KCETA extended its helping hand to more than 500 teachers and students at the school.
KCETA donated more than 310,000 Kenyan shillings (around 20,000 yuan), mainly including sugar, edible oil, wheat flour, corn flour and soap required by local people in daily life. At the same time, Keda Ceramics, a member company of KCETA, donated 30,000 Kenyan shillings worth of disinfectant wipes and washing powder to teachers and students.
Benedict Kiage, the director of Mcedo Beijing Primary School, lauded the Chinese companies' support, saying his gratitude to the Chinese companies is beyond words. "This kind action will always remain in the hearts of teachers and students of the school."
Established in 2000, the Kenya China Economic and Trade Association is a non-governmental organization composed of Chinese-funded enterprises in Kenya. There are currently 103 member companies.
