Home cooking heats up social media in China during the outbreak

During the novel coronavirus outbreak, many people are stuck at home in China and a lot of residents are exploring cooking as a popular lifestyle.
Some netizens are showing their homemade delicacies online.
From Jan 24 to Mar 9, the three hottest homemade foods are cakes cooked with an electric cooker, cold noodles and deep-fried dough sticks on Douyin, one of the largest short video platforms in China, according to a report on homemade food big data released by Douyin.
Aside from the aforementioned foods, ear-hole fried cakes, deep-fried donuts, pizza, Chinese hamburgers, milk tea, egg pancakes and double-skinned milk are among the top 10 most popular foods.
Residents of Hainan province like cooking at home most in the country, followed by people from Anhui, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Sichuan, the report said.
