Northeast China's Jilin province, Southwest China's Guizhou province and Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Monday became the latest provincial-level regions that were declared clear of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The last two COVID-19 patients in Ningxia were discharged from the Fourth People's Hospital of Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Monday at 4 pm.

A 23-year-old patient surnamed Ding was the first traveler back from Iran confirmed with COVID-19 in the region and was transferred to the hospital from Zhongwei city on Feb 26.

The other 64-year-old patient surnamed Zhang was transferred to the hospital from Yongning county on Feb 25.

After about 20 days' treatment, they have recovered and were discharged from the hospital.

The region has seen no new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection for 12 consecutive days.

Since the first case was reported on Jan 22, a total of 75 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ningxia and all the patients have been cured with a combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine.

The region has cleared all suspected cases and ended quarantine for all close contacts with the confirmed cases.

On Monday morning, the last COVID-19 patient in Guizhou, a 65-year-old man surnamed Yan, recovered and was discharged from Jiangjunshan Hospital, a newly constructed hospital dedicated to COVID-19 patients in the capital city Guiyang, according to Guizhou Daily.

He was diagnosed with the case of the novel coronavirus on Feb 3 and transferred to the hospital the second day.

After about 40 days' medical treatment, his health condition has improved and he tested negative for the novel coronavirus two consecutive times.

After joint consultation from experts, he was allowed to leave the hospital according to the newest medical standards and sent to a centralized quarantine point for medical observation.

"I received a sachet from the medical workers as a present," said Yan. "I want to say thank you for giving me the celebrity treatment and good care in the past weeks and I will remember all of you."

According to the province's health commission, Guizhou had a total of 146 confirmed cases of the disease, with two deaths and 144 cured.

Furthermore, the province has cleared all suspected cases and ended quarantine for all close contacts with the confirmed cases.

As of Sunday, Jilin reported 93 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with one patient died and the other 92 have been cured.
