Medical equipment and facilities are in place in the Xiaotangshan Hospital in Changping district of Beijing on Sunday, where specialists are doing the last testing work.

"Today's testing is on the last batch of facilities and equipment," said an official from Beijing Institute of Metrology, which is in charge of the testing work of nearly 900 medical equipment at the hospital since Feb 11.

More than 20 workers from the institute have been working since 10 am on Sunday. "No matter how late we have to stay, we will finish the work," said Yao Hejun, president of the institute, quoted by Beijing Daily.

The Xiaotangshan Hospital was built within seven days in 2003 to cope with SARS epidemic. The speed set a record in the world's hospital construction history.

Lei Haichao, head of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, said on January 30 that Beijing had upgraded the hospital and would use it for COVID-19 patients.

The hospital had finished construction of five three-story inpatient buildings on the original site of SARS ward buildings, Beijing News reported.
