Xi congratulates new Greek leader
President Xi Jinping on Friday sent a congratulatory message to Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on her taking office.
China and Greece are good, mutually beneficial friends that help each other and learn from each other, Xi said in the message.
Noting that he paid a successful state visit to Greece late last year, Xi said he is satisfied with the fruitful outcomes on jointly building the Belt and Road between the two countries and is confident regarding the future of China-Greece cooperation.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and is willing to build good working relations with Sakellaropoulou to promote development of the Sino-Greek comprehensive strategic partnership.
Sakellaropoulou, a former top judge, is the first female head of state in the history of modern Greece.
