Huanggang, one of the cities most affected by the novel coronavirus in the east of Wuhan, announced it will resume the operation of normal medical services as the city's novel coronavirus control has seen a remarkable effect from Wednesday.

According to a notice issued by the leading group of the city's novel coronavirus prevention and control on Tuesday, six of the city-tier hospitals in the urban area will reopen general clinics to the public. There will be medical observation areas for those needing hospitalization to get CT scans, nucleic acid tests and blood serum inspections before getting admitted. The observation lasts three days.

All medics should have their temperatures taken before getting to work, wear a mask and pay attention to hand sanitation on the job, the notice said.

Express channels will be open to patients in critical condition and designated fever clinics will remain. Crowding must be avoided by adhering to one patient per examination room and prohibiting visitation at hospitals.

Huanggang, a city with a population of 7.5 million, has reported no new cases for seven days since March 3 and seen 2,657 recovered among the 2,907 confirmed infections by midnight of March 9.
