Two subway stations in Beijing, Tiantongyuan station on Line 5 and Shahe station on the Changping Line, started to pilot a reservation scheme for rides during weekday morning rush hours on Friday.

Passengers can make a reservation one day in advance on their phones if they want to take the subway at the two stations from 6:30 am to 9:30 am on weekdays. Those who succeed in making the reservation will get a QR code on the phone, which allows them to enter the stations via a special fast track.
