Shandong city to conduct nucleic acid tests on arrivals
Yantai city in Shandong province will provide free nucleic acid tests for all travelers arriving from abroad amid efforts to prevent and control novel coronavirus pneumonia, the city’s government said on Wednesday afternoon.
As an increasing number of travelers are coming to Yantai from neighboring countries, the city will strengthen prevention and control measures, it said.
The city established a joint prevention and control mechanism at Yantai International Airport on Tuesday to examine travelers’ health conditions and has set up special channels for them, according to the Information Office of the People’s Government of Yantai.
After health exams, people having a negative result from nucleic acid tests will be sent to their destinations by designated vehicles. They are advised to stay at home for further observation.
People testing positive will be sent to local designated hospitals for further checks and treatment, it said.
The city has also arranged teams in other Shandong province cities of Qingdao and Weihai to carry out the same measures.
