NHC Update: Nine Cases! New Confirmed Cases Outside Hubei Drop to Single Digit for the First Time

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 24 February, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 508 confirmed cases;
b) 71 fatal cases (including 68 in Hubei, 2 in Shandong and 1 in Guangdong);
c) 530 suspected cases;
d) 2,589 cured and discharged cases;
e) 15,758 close contacts released from medical observation; and
f) 789 fewer severe cases.
2. As of 24:00, 24 February, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 47,672 confirmed cases (including 9,126 severe cases) still under treatment;
b) 27,323 cured and discharged cases;
c) 2,663 fatal cases;
d) 77,658 confirmed cases;
e) 2,824 suspected cases; and
f) 641,742 close contacts traced (including 87,902 still under medical observation).
3. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 24 February, the following were newly reported by Hubei:
a) 499 confirmed cases (including 464 in Wuhan);
b) 2,116 cured and discharged cases (including 1,391 in Wuhan);
c) 68 fatal cases (including 56 in Wuhan); and
d) 373 suspected cases (including 282 in Wuhan).
As of 24:00, 24 February, Hubei had reported:
a) 43,369 confirmed cases (including 34,691 in Wuhan) still under treatment;
b) 8,675 severe cases (including 7,647 in Wuhan);
c) 18,854 cured and discharged cases (including 10,337 in Wuhan);
d) 2,563 fatal cases (including 2,043 in Wuhan);
e) 64,786 confirmed cases (including 47,071 in Wuhan); and
f) 2,292 suspected cases (including 1,529 in Wuhan).
4. As of 24:00, 24 February, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 121 confirmed cases:
a) 81 (including 19 discharged cases and 2 fatal cases) in the Hong Kong SAR;
b) 10 (including 6 discharged cases) in the Macao SAR; and
c) 30 (including 5 discharged cases and 1 fatal case) in the Taiwan region.
