Three experts of the World Health Organization (WHO) arrived at a cabin hospital in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, Central China's Hubei province on Feb 23 to learn about the current status of the novel coronavirus prevention and control work, praising the Guizhou medical team's efforts.

According to the officials, the cabin hospital was completed in three days and received over 300 mild patients on the day of completion with the help of the Guizhou medical team.

Mu Mao, captain assistant of Guizhou's national emergency medical rescue team and associate chief physician at the infectious disease department of the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, gave an overview of the diagnosis, treatment, nosocomial infection prevention, and medical quality management at the cabin hospital.

The cabin hospital provides computer tomography and nucleic acid testing to evaluate patients and to guarantee a zero-mortality rate. The medical team also adopts interventions based on patients' emotions and psychological changes to improve the cure rate, said Mu.

Coming from one of the best hospitals in Guizhou, the medical team has rich experiences in treating novel coronavirus pneumonia and will provide exemplary treatment at the cabin hospital.

WHO experts expressed wishes to share the cabin hospital experience to other countries as a reference for novel coronavirus pneumonia treatment.

Currently, medical teams from Guizhou, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces serve at the cabin hospital. Some 1,005 confirmed cases have been received, 10 of which were transferred, while 40 were cured and discharged.
