Capital sees no new cases in 24-hours
Beijing reported no new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infections for 24 hours as of the end of Saturday, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission said on Sunday.
As of Saturday midnight, Beijing had confirmed 399 patients infected with COVID-19, with 189 being released, four deaths and 17 in critical condition, the commission said on Sunday morning.
Among the confirmed cases in the capital, 189 are male, making up 47.4 percent of the total, it added.
The capital also announced 35 new suspected cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of suspected cases in Beijing to 100. Meanwhile, 19 people who had close contact with previously confirmed cases were added on Saturday, according to the commission.
So far, the capital's health authorities have detected 2,452 people people with close contact with patients, with 1,655 of them already being released from medical observation.
On Saturday, 11 novel coronavirus pneumonia patients had recovered and released from designated hospitals in Beijing, with the oldest patient being 78 years old and the youngest being six months old.
