North China's Tianjin municipality and Southwest China's Guizhou province announced on Sunday they are opening all their tourist areas for free for all medical workers.

The move is aimed at expressing local citizens' sincere gratitude to medical workers' commitment during the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia, according to official announcements.

The municipality and the province are among the first to offer free admission to all local tourists areas for medical workers, and the offer will be in effect from now until the end of 2021.

A total of 108 top tourist destinations including the renowned Ancient Culture Street and Panshan Mountain Scenery Area in Tianjin, and up to 420 tourists destinations in Guizhou, which is rich in abundant natural scenery, including the Fanjing Mountain National Nature Reserve in Tongren and the Wanfeng Forest Scenic Area -- or thousand-peaks forest, -- as well as the Chishui Grand Waterfall.

To date, apart from Tianjin and Guizhou, up to 500 tourist areas in China have announced free admission for medical workers.
