Beijing life inspires French artist's solo exhibition

"I enjoyed life in Beijing. It sounds ridiculous that I was too busy to paint in Paris and Tel Aviv, but here in Beijing, I have few friends and plenty of free time to observe and create," said the artist.

"Every person I met here, very scene I saw or every story I heard would be in my painting. It is like I'm telling stories in Beijing through my paintings," she said.

Christine Cayol, president of Yishu 8 Maison des Arts, said, "Herbelin is natural, both herself and her paintings. In her room in Beijing, there are so many sketches and photos she took in Beijing. She turned them into her works. I hope more visitors could see them."
