LOS ANGELES - No Chinese citizens were onboard the crashed helicopter in Hawaii, the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles confirmed with Xinhua on Friday evening.

The tour helicopter crashed on Thursday on its way back from a sightseeing tour on the Kauai island in Hawaii. Seven individuals -- one pilot and six passengers, including two children -- were on the flight, according to local authorities.

The wreckage of the helicopter has been found in a mountainous region earlier on Friday.

The remains of the six people onboard were recovered on Friday. Local authorities said they will return to the site of the wreckage on Saturday to search for the remains of the seventh individual.

"There are no indications of survivors," said Kauai Fire Department Battalion Chief Sol Kanoho at a press briefing.
