Harbin Institute of Technology kicks off ice and snow festival

A campus ice and snow festival kicked off at Harbin Institute of Technology in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, on Dec 19.

The large campus has been decorated by varied ice sculptures and colorful festoon lamps, attracting lots of students and teachers as well as tourists even as temperature falls to as low as -20 C.

Along the pedestrian street, some people played traditional ice and snow games while some enjoyed various delicious snacks.

During the one-month festival, a series of activities will be held, such as competition of ice and snow sculptures, ice and snow fun games and so on.
