A self-service law platform started full operation last week in a public legal service center in Lhasa, the capital of Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, China Tibet News reported.

According to the center, the online, unmanned legal office was co-founded by the justice departments of the region and East China's Jiangsu province.

The self-service law office is an internet-based legal service platform for the public that applies internet and big data. Connecting online with lawyers nationwide, the platform is composed of a high definition touch terminal, and an identity card reader. It can provide a quick consultation, material sharing, clerical services and video consultation with lawyers.

By following a sketch map on the platform's screen, after one click on "Quick Query", the visitor is asked to scan an identity card first, then a new user registration process is required. After logging in, people can ask different questions, or have a consultation with lawyers via video interview.

The platform's service range includes marriage, land ownership, estates, traffic accidents, contract arrearage, labor rights protection and business ventures.

Citizens can find the right lawyers to better match various cases in less than 30 seconds from more than 40,000 lawyers nationwide available via the platform.

At present, the platform is only in Chinese, while the Tibetan language version is under debugging and expected to be put into operation very soon.
