Xue Fuli records idyllic rural life in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region in paintings while helping a local village rise out of poverty.

Xue, a public servant in the region, has created many oil paintings in his spare time that show scenes of the village's landscape and residents' work, lives and entertainment activities.

He used to be a teacher at Ningxia Polytechnic but now temporarily works at Nanchuan village in Xiji county to help alleviate poverty.

He wants to record the scenes he has seen in the village and neighboring regions while working with residents and building a beautiful village.
