In 2009, Kapoor's artworks were featured at the Brighton Festival, an established annual multiarts festival in the UK. His works were so popular that people who wanted to catch a view of them blocked the streets, causing the police to clear the chaos and restore order.

To organize and present the artist's long overdue China solo, the CAFA Art Museum and Kapoor's team spent three years, said CAFA Art Museum director Zhang Zikang.
