Fourth India-China Think Tank Forum held in Beijing

The fourth India-China Think Tank Forum with the theme of India-China Relationship in the Asian Century took place in Beijing from Thursday to Friday.
Indian and Chinese experts exchanged views about "building closer development partnership between China and India", "development strategies and experiences in China and India" as well as "communication and mutual learning between Chinese and Indian civilization".
Xie Fuzhan, president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said China and India are emerging markets and developing countries so they play important roles in multilateralism and in ensuring that interests of developing countries are protected as the world is ushering into a new age.
Cultural and people-to-people exchanges, including student exchange, think tank communication, tea culture and movies, were emphasized by Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui in his opening remarks.
Dr. T.C.A Raghavan, director general of the Indian Council for World Affairs, said both countries should jointly contribute to global economic development with their vigor.
Sponsored by the CASS and External Affairs Ministry, Government of India, the India-China Think Tank Forum is part of the China-India high-level people-to-people exchange mechanism. China and India have taken turns hosting the forum since 2016.
