Train collides with vehicle in Florida, multiple fatalities reported

WASHINGTON - An Amtrak passenger train on Saturday collided with a vehicle in Jupiter, southeast US state of Florida, causing multiple fatalities, local media reported.

Teri Barbera, a spokeswoman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, said she was not sure about the exact number of fatalities, adding first responders believe the dead were all connected to the vehicle, television network NBC News reported.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 2 pm local time (1900 GMT) and no one on the train was injured.
