Taiwan enterprises welcome to join in construction of mainland 5G networks: Spokesperson
BEIJING -- Taiwan enterprises are welcome to join in the construction and application of 5G networks on the mainland and share opportunities brought by 5G technological development, a mainland spokesperson said Wednesday.
Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks at a regular press conference when asked to comment on Taiwan authorities' response to the "26 measures," which were unveiled on Nov 4 by the mainland to further boost economic and cultural ties across the Taiwan Straits.
The mainland's huge telecommunications market and the great development prospects of 5G industries will bring new and enormous opportunities for the development of relevant Taiwan enterprises, he said.
Building on the "31 measures" that the mainland rolled out in February 2018 to promote cross-Straits economic and cultural ties, the "26 measures" further reflect the mainland's vision of making development people-centered in its Taiwan work, treating Taiwan compatriots as equals and benefiting them in the same way as mainland residents, Ma said.
He said the new measures will bring greater development opportunities and more benefits to Taiwan compatriots.
