Meteorological service bureau set up in Xiong'an
A meteorological bureau was set up in Xiong'an New Area of North China's Hebei province on Sunday to provide meteorological services in the area, according to Xiongan's official WeChat account.
Since the establishment of Xiongan New Area in April 2017, national and Hebei provincial meteorological authorities – the China Meteorological Administration and Hebei Meteorological Service - have carried out research and planning on the area's meteorological services, including ventilation corridors and intelligent meteorological development, according to Yu Xinwen, deputy administrator of the China Meteorological Administration.
Yu said meteorological authorities will strive to build Xiong'an into a demonstration area for smart meteorology, and a leading area for meteorological science and technology innovation.
Chen Gang, secretary of the Xiong'an New Area CPC Working Committee and director of the area's administrative committee, said the bureau will help promote deep integration of meteorological work in the area and the construction of a intelligent city in Xiong'an.
