In the face of escalating violence and life threats, candidates contesting Hong Kong District Council seats called for a fair and safe election on Thursday.
Their call came a day after lawmaker Junius Ho Kwan-yiu was stabbed in broad daylight by a man posing as his supporter while he was campaigning in Tuen Mun, New Territories.
