State Council vows to firmly implement spirit of key CPC meeting

BEIJING - The leading Party members group of the State Council held a meeting Friday to study the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Presided over by Premier Li Keqiang, the meeting noted that the important speech by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, systematically summarized the major progress in all areas since the third plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

"The progress was achieved by all members of the Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China, who are united and led by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee," said a statement issued after the meeting.

Government departments at all levels should uphold and continuously strengthen the advantages of China's state and governance systems, and firmly safeguard the authority of the Central Committee, said the statement.

The meeting stressed the importance of improving the efficiency of administration, strengthen the checks on and supervision over administrative power and building a service-oriented government that satisfies the people.

More efforts should be made to improve the business environment and boost the vitality of the market and creativity of society, according to the meeting.

The meeting underlined stabilizing employment, the financial market, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment and expectations in a bid to keep economic growth within a reasonable range and promote sustainable and healthy economic and social development.
