17 injured when stolen truck rams into cars in southern Germany

BERLIN -- A total of 17 people were injured when a man drove a stolen truck and rammed into several cars in Germany's southern city of Limburg, local police said in a statement on Tuesday.

The suspect, a Syrian aged 30, seized control of the truck on Monday afternoon and slammed the truck into eight cars in the city center of Limburg in the evening, according to the police. He was lightly injured and arrested.

Several people were being treated in hospital with one of them in critical condition.

Local police have been investigating the motives behind the incident.
