Festive event spotlights Chinese culture, sports immersion


Speaking fluent Chinese, she said she learned a lot from the woman promoting hanfu, the traditional Chinese costume.
"I got married in qipao," she said, referring to a type of feminine body-hugging dress with distinctive Chinese features of Manchu origin.
The activities also included a virtual reality hot-air balloon immersion, where participants wearing VR glasses enjoyed a breathtaking aerial view of the urban landscape of Shanghai with a sensation of flying; Chinese calligraphy show; Chinese Go board game; the dragon dance and singing by Chinese and European students.
Chinese food and drink were served from noon to evening so visitors could enjoy a taste of China. Foods included spring rolls, roasted duck rolls, sesame balls, mooncakes, bubble tea and a Chinese cocktail made with Moutai, regarded as the best Chinese liquor.
