Raul Modesto Castro Ruz, former Cuban president, born June 3, 1931
In 2008, Raul Castro was officially elected president of the State Council. In April 2011, the sixth congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, or PCC, elected Castro as first secretary of the party. In April 2016, the seventh PCC congress reelected Castro as first secretary of the party. In April 2018, he finished two terms as Cuba's president.
