The first round of Tunisian presidential elections will be held on Sept 15.

The presidential election, originally scheduled for November, was called early because of the death of President Beji Caid Essebsi in July.

The campaigns for the presidential election started on Sept 2 on the Tunisian territory and will continue until Sept 13.

The Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) has announced a list of 26 candidates running for the presidential election, including the current and multiple former prime ministers, its defense minister and a former president.
