The 12th China-Northeast Asia Expo – currently being staged in the Jilin provincial capital of Changchun – will help shed light on what people’s lives will be like in the future, as they are increasingly shaped by groundbreaking 5G technology, according to the organizers.

They added that the answers could be contained in the Pavilion of 5G New Era at CNEA Expo, which kicked off on Aug 23 and runs to Aug 27.

The pavilion, with an exhibition area of 18,000 square meters, has attracted around 70 exhibitors who are showcasing their cutting-edge technologies in the internet of things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, as well as the latest achievements and applications in 5G.

Chinese tech giants Huawei, ZTE, China Mobile, China Unicom and iFLYTEK are participating in the event, as well as international corporations including Microsoft, who are all displaying their achievements and are involved in exploring business opportunities in China in the 5G sector.

China Mobile for one is showing applications in 5G technology in medicine, teaching, livestock raising, agriculture and remote-piloted vehicles. Visitors can try out VR devices to experience the achievements.

Applications for 5G in the smart home, as well as in intelligent manufacturing, public security, transportation, tourism and entertainment, are all being featured at the expo, helping to map out a more intelligent future for people.

The expo’s venue –– the Changchun International Conference and Exhibition Center – is already known as platform for showcasing the wonders of 5G, organizers said.
