New maintenance vehicles introduced on Chang'anjie

The fifth generation of cleaning and maintenance vehicles for the lights along Chang'anjie (Chang'an Avenue) was launched in Tian'anmen Square on Wednesday afternoon in Beijing.
The vehicles – which feature light-cleaning, technical-monitoring and data analysis functions – were designed by the Beijing urban lighting management center.
The vehicles are only used for cleaning the lights along Chang'anjie, Beijing's main avenue.
Different from the last generation, the vehicles have automatic cleaning devices, which are much faster than the manual cleaning methods of the past.
The fifth generation features sunshades and fans, which have helped improved working conditions, while the vehicles also feature inbuilt toilets for extra convenience.
According to the municipal authority, light cleaning and maintenance on the avenue's 6,000 lights begins in May and runs till September each year.
