BEIJING - A newly unveiled action plan to maintain Chinese people's all-round health has proposed daily and weekly standards for healthy physical exercise.
The plan for the 2019-2030 period was devised and issued by a special committee recently established by the State Council.
It proposes 6,000 to 10,000 footsteps' walking or running as the standard amount of daily exercise per individual, and encourages the public to include more physical activity in their daily life.
The plan also suggests doing over 30 minutes of moderately intense exercise more than three times a week, or a sum total of 150 minutes of such exercise or 75 minutes of high-intensity exercise as the standard weekly amount per individual.
