Batik fans in cool shades of blue and white have become a hot sales item in the summer, showing the magic of combining the traditional Chinese cloth-dyeing craft with a time-honored tool for keeping the heat away.

The Qian Cheng Shi Jin workshop in Kaili, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Guizhou province, produces these batik fans and then sends them to cities across the country.
