The Tea Road Cultural Tourism Expo opened in Ulaanqab, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on June 23 with the aim of showcasing the history and culture of the Tea Road and the unique local cultures, tourism landscapes, cultural and creative products, intangible cultural heritage items, and cross-border tourism routes of members of the China-Russia-Mongolia Tea Road International Tourism Alliance.

The Tea Road International Tourism Alliance is a result of cultural and tourism cooperation among China, Russia, and Mongolia. It helps smooth the economic corridor between the three countries and supports the reform and development of the global governance system. It also strengthens trade and cultural exchanges between the three countries, promotes regional friendship among them, and significantly affects Eurasian geopolitics. Inner Mongolia has historically been an important hub for Tea Road business and trade exchanges. It is also the key development area of the China-Russia-Mongolia economic corridor.

According to local media reports, the five-day expo is open to the public free of charge and has a total exhibition area of 3,000 square meters. It will feature exhibitions from nearly 40 companies.

Four comprehensive exhibition halls will feature traditional graphic and physical exhibitions as well as interactive and high-tech projects that enable visitors to immerse themselves in the cultures of these three countries.

The expo aims to establish a professional cultural tourism cooperation and exchange platform, create a professional exhibition brand to link the three countries, enhance cooperation related to tourism, economics, trade, and culture, accelerate the development of cross-border tourism, and increase the influence of the Tea Road international tourism brand.
