Born in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province, Wang released his first song in 2016, and enhanced his popularity by starring in director Huo Jianqi's romance film Lost in Love and coming-of-age TV series The Faded Light Years.

He is part of the Sophie Marceau-starring Chinese film Turandot and the Zhao Lixin-led movie Fighting Men of China.

Now, followed by nearly 9.5 million fans on Sina Weibo, Wang is using his influence to foster knowledge and understanding about health and nature.

This was exemplified by a visit to malarial areas in Zambia in April.

Invited by the RBM (Roll Back Malaria) Partnership to End Malaria and Zambia's Ministry of Health, Wang visited several hospitals, distributing mosquito nets to villagers and learned more about the disease from experts.
