5.8-magnitude quake hits waters off Taiwan: CENC

BEIJING -- A 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off the Taitung County, Taiwan, at 5:46 pm Tuesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 22.82 degrees north latitude and 121.75 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 9 km, the center said in a statement.
