Over 1,300 students compete in calligraphy competition

More than 1,300 primary school students took part in a calligraphy competition in Yinchuan, capital of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Tuesday.

The competition, which featured hard and brush writing, was organized to encourage students to carry forward the culture embodied in calligraphy which occupies a distinguished position in traditional Chinese culture.
