Plane crash kills 2 in northwestern Canada

OTTAWA - Two people were killed Monday evening in a plane crash in the city of Whitehorse in northwestern Canada, Canadian television network CTV said Tuesday.
The light, single-engine Cessna 170 plane, bound for the municipality of Anchorage in the US state of Alaska, crashed into trees at 5:30 pm local time on Monday (0030 GMT Tuesday) shortly after taking off from the airport in Whitehorse, the CTV said.
A team of investigators will head to Whitehorse on Tuesday, it said.
