Two kangaroos escaping from zoo caught in Zhejiang

Two kangaroos that ran away from a zoo in Ningbo, Zhejiang province were caught after a two-day search by police and zoo staff on Tuesday.
According to the zoo, they found two kangaroos had escaped from the cage-free area in Ningbo Youngor Zoo, located about 15 kilometers southeast of downtown Ningbo, on Sunday morning.
Police received calls from residents that one of the kangaroos was spotted in a crossroad in downtown Ningbo on Monday. After two hours of searching, it was captured in a construction site and sent back to the zoo by breeders. The other escaped kangaroo was found in a cave in an undeveloped area of the zoo on Tuesday morning.
The zoo has a total of 25 kangaroos, including gray and red ones. Kangaroos are kept in a cage-free area of about 10,000 square meters, and there is a small river in the area leading to the outside world. Zookeepers believe the two kangaroos may have overreacted after fighting with each other and jumped into the river to escape.
Zookeepers say both kangaroos are in stable condition after their return.
