Over 370,000 trips expected through HK's express rail link station during Labor Day holiday


HONG KONG - As Labor Day holiday approaches, tourists are expected to make over 370,000 visits through control point at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station during the four-day holiday from May 1, West Kowloon Station Frontier Inspection of Express Rail Link said on Monday.
According to the frontier inspection, 40 newly-built automated immigration clearance channels will be put into use on May 1 to improve clearance efficiency. Therefore overall, there are 100 channels at the control point, 50 for arrivals and 50 for departures, to meet the growing demand of tourists.
A spokesman of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government said that, to cope with the tourist flow into Hong Kong, relevant government departments will strengthen manpower at various control points and co-ordinate transport and cross-boundary services during the Labor Day holiday.
