11 killed, 2 injured in China construction site accident

SHIJIAZHUANG -- Eleven workers were killed and two others were seriously injured after an elevator collapsed at a construction site in North China's Hebei province Thursday morning, local authorities said.
The collapse occurred around 8 am in Taocheng district of Hengshui city, according to the city government.
The injured are being treated at a local hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
