The award ceremony for the 37th Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in Brussels on Sunday was attended by thousands of enthusiastic fans of the fantasy film genre.

Eighteen awards from seven different units were announced, including the biggest award, the Golden Raven, which went to the comedy-horror movie Little Monster.

Cities of Last Things, a co-production involving the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, France, and the United States, won "special mention" for 7th Orbit Unit. The drama tells three bizarre stories involving police officer Zhang Dongling that are recounted in reverse chronological order.

Unlike mainstream film festivals, BIFFF was created in 1983 to be a celebration not only of films with surrealist themes, such as fantasy, thriller, horror, and scientific movies, but also an exploration of the fantastic genre, with body painting, make-up, and animation.
