Chinese president appoints new ambassadors

BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed eight new ambassadors in accordance with a decision by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, according to a statement from the national legislature on Thursday.

Wu Ken was appointed ambassador to Germany, replacing Shi Mingde.

Hua Ning was appointed ambassador to South Sudan, replacing He Xiangdong.

Wu Peng was appointed ambassador to Kenya, replacing Sun Baohong.

Gong Tao was appointed ambassador to Angola, replacing Cui Aimin.

Guo Shaochun was appointed ambassador to Zimbabwe, replacing Huang Ping.

Du Dewen was appointed ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, replacing Xiao Qinghua.

Jiang Yu was appointed ambassador to Romania, replacing Xu Feihong.

Dong Xiaojun was appointed ambassador to Bulgaria, replacing Zhang Haizhou.
