WARSAW -- The reshuffle of the Polish government would take place after the Easter holidays, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Gowin said on Wednesday.

"The final decision will belong to the Prime Minister," Gowin, who's also the minister of Science and Higher Education, told radio station TOK FM.

"It is not even sure that a reconstruction will take place. Rather, we are leaning towards having ministers who are on top of the lists for the European Parliament leave their positions. But I do not think the reshuffle would cover anyone else," Gowin added.

Catholic Easter will be celebrated on April 21 this year.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party said the reshuffle was likely to take place before European Parliament elections in May.

In February, PiS announced that some of its ministers and vice ministers would be running for seats in the European Parliament, including Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, Minister of the Interior and Administration Joachim Brudzinski and Minister of National Education Anna Zalewska.
