Opera from Ningxia to mark China's 70th anniversary

Ningxia Hui autonomous region's Qinqiang opera troupe performed at Beijing's Mei Lanfang Theater Sunday and Monday to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China.

Often described as China's "ancient rock" and originating in the Qin dynasty (221-206 BC), Qinqiang opera is known for its intensive beats and high-pitched singing style.
