KUNMING - Police in Southwest China's Yunnan province said Wednesday they had caught two suspects and seized 26 kg of methamphetamine.

Police in Yi autonomous prefecture of Chuxiong received a report about impending drug trafficking in Yingjiang county on Feb 28, before an investigation team was set up and dispatched to the area.

On March 9, the team captured two people suspected of selling drugs in Yingjiang county.

Two bags of methamphetamine, weighing around 26 kg, were found in a patch of grass 50 meters away from where the suspects were caught.

The two suspects have been detained by police in the city of Chuxiong and local police have conducted further investigation into the case.
