Baidu Founder and CEO Li Yanhong proposed to establish AI-aided smart transportation solutions to ease traffic jams and reduce accidents in order to improve travel times.

Li proposed the Chinese government further strengthen guidance to establish data sharing and usage systems, and encourage local governments to explore and build intelligent transportation solutions.

Li said China should speed up the formation of vehicle and road coordination standards, promote smart transformation of transportation infrastructure, encourage local governments to increase the layout of vehicles and roads, and develop a vehicle-road collaborative management platform.

He also proposed the government carry out a transportation application demonstration program by choosing qualified cities to take the lead in deploying intelligent traffic signals, intelligent parking and other applications, and gradually expand these changes to the whole country.
