Female tourists prefer spring travel: report

Female tourists prefer to travel in early spring, with the month of March a peak period, according to a report from online travel agency Tongcheng-Elong.

To cater for this demand, a number of domestic travel destinations offered discounts to female travelers on March 8, International Women's Day.

Destinations with flower blossoms are most popular with female travelers, according to Tongcheng-Elong's data, which further showed that women make over 70 percent of family-travel plans.

Women over the age of 30-year-old are the biggest consumer demographic in family travel, according to the report.

Women usually choose hotels near scenic destinations and prefer those with childcare facilities, such as baby beds and playgrounds, said the report.
