Former provincial legislator under investigation

BEIJING - Zhang Maocai, a former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanxi Provincial People's Congress, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party disciplinary rules and laws, according to the country's top anti-graft body Saturday.

Zhang is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
