Electronic vote counting to be used in electing Macao chief executive election committee members
MACAO - The electronic counting of votes is to be used in the election of Macao chief executive election committee members, the management committee of Macao chief executive election said on Friday.
Song Man Lei, President of the the management committee of Macao chief executive election, told the media that the decision was made after reviewing experiences from the chief executive election in 2014.
She said that the committee also decided that the polling on June 16 to elect Macao chief executive election committee members would continue to use the same ballot boxes that had been used in the chief executive election in 2014.
She said that the committee was analyzing potential venues for the polling and has set up telephone hotlines and an email address for media enquiry concerning the upcoming chief executive election process.
The Macao chief executive election committee consists of 400 members from four sectors, including the industrial, commercial and financial sector; the cultural, educational, professional and sports sector; and the labor, social services and the religion sector.
