Tianjin's European-style architectures to be revitalized

Over 400 European-style architectures are situated in Tianjin 5th Avenue, covering an area of 1.28 square kilometers. Hailed as World Architecture Exhibits, it is the best preserved foreign architectural building group in the country.

The beautiful scenery of blooming flowers standing among unique buildings with styles ranging from Renaissance and Gothic to the Romantic era has impressed numerous visitors, becoming an indispensable part of Tianjin.

The cultural and historical richness of the area has entailed itself for higher value under the support of local government. The old buildings have undergone several renovations and revitalization, and will be transformed into banks, financial institutions and hotels through leasing and rent.

Located at No 61 Nanjing Road, the intersection of Nanjing Road and Hubei Road and Qufu Road, China Energy Engineering Group North Construction and Investment Co., Ltd(CEEC) set its neat and spacious modern office within this exotic building.

"We were looking for a new site, but we were not satisfied until we saw this building. We immediately felt it was the one we had been looking for," Zhang Dong, director of the Office of CEEC, said in an interview. He also mentioned that the company has seen energetic development since settling in the the building in 2018.

Almost each European-style building in Tianjin has a history of nearly 100 years, represented as a historical relic. The cultural heritage of these building is very important to enhance the cultural image of the company, said Wu Hanming, party secretary and chairman of the company.

"Tianjin is the best choice for our company. The strong entrepreneurial atmosphere and the industrial structure fits perfectly with our company. We feel happy and confident to develop here."

More and more Stated-owned companies and large private companies have focused on Tianjin, following CEEC's settlement.

In 2018, Heping district launched 90 vacant small-scale buildings located in the Fifth Avenue, Tai'an Road for investment promotion. The investment target is mainly intelligent and innovative industrial enterprise headquarters, regional headquarters, and centers for sales, settlement, finance, research and development and other office functions.

At present, the district has already started its new year's job of investment promotion to revitalize the exotic buildings and setting favorable policies for assembling qualified applicants and strategic emerging industries.
